Help us celebrate Black History Month as we honor hometown hero Carlyle “Chad” Borders by raising funds to purchase a gravestone worthy of his contribution to basketball and our community.

“Honoring a Local Hero During Black History Month
As we celebrate Black History Month, we’re proud to launch a campaign that honors Carlyle “Chad” Borders, Lebanon High School’s first Black high school basketball player in 1926. Carlyle was the 1926 season leading scorer and the “Hero of the 1926 basketball victory over Crawfordsville”. Though he made history on the court, his final resting place in Oak Hill Cemetary has gone unmarked—until now.
We’re raising funds to provide him with a gravestone that honors his contributions to basketball and the community.
This Black History Month, join us in ensuring Carlyle Borders is remembered for the trailblazer he was. Your support will help lay the foundation for his gravestone and preserve his legacy for generations to come.
