Power Forward – GoTime Green Machine
Davon Haynes, a seasoned power forward for the GoTime Green Machine, hails from Detroit, Michigan. A devoted father to his two children—daughter Madison and son Davon Jr. (“Day Jay”)—Davon lives by the motto: “Family over everything.” He considers his children his lifelines and his greatest motivation both on and off the court.
Davon played collegiate basketball at Bowling Green State University and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.. His professional career spans over 12 years and includes playing internationally, in the TBL, and with the iconic Harlem Globetrotters. Most recently, he played for the Lebanon Leprechauns (TBL), where he quickly became a fan favorite.
“The city of Lebanon embraced me from the start,” Davon says. “The people here are incredible. The support we receive is unreal, and I’m forever grateful for my time here.”
In his youth, Davon also played football and baseball. He’s a lifelong fan of the Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Lakers, and his favorite players include Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Jalen Rose. Outside of basketball, his passions include music and spending time with his family.
Known for his relentless work ethic, Davon trains daily—whether it’s to improve by 1% or more. He believes mental and physical preparation are essential to success. “Basketball is life,” he says. “It’s my escape from the troubles of the world. Now, it’s about training the next generation.”
Davon is also a dedicated basketball trainer, helping young athletes elevate their skills and chase college scholarships. “Even if I can help just one athlete get to college through sports, I’ll feel accomplished.”
His motto: “No pain, no gain. No grind, no shine.”
His advice to young athletes: “Put the work in to get better—no one is going to do it for you.”
